Hey hey! Long time no speak. Despite this, lots has been going on in life, music and general shenanigans. I'm writing to say a belated Happy New Year, and also to give you something... please find the link to my new release called "Stripped Back Acts of Kindness". A restructured, re-imagined acoustic rendition of a handful of tracks from my album "Little Acts of Kindness" Recorded Live with my main man Will Barnes, this EP offers a natural, no-frills example of what these songs can be with two guitars and two voices. We've taken a 'vibes first' approach by capturing the pure joy and spontaneity of first take, one shot recordings with minimal embellishment and maximum 'feel' and sometimes turning tracks completely on their head.
If you watch social media, you'll probably have noticed I'm doing an intimate run of dates this month. Check out our write up and links to Facebook events are below:
"A rare opportunity to catch Beth Prior and her main man Will Barnes stripping it right back to the roots for a special run of intimate acoustic shows. This exclusive outing gives Beth a chance to try out new material, chat about their origins, discuss new ways of writing, collaboration and the inspiration behind it all.Beth and Will's guitar and vocal combination is soaked in history. Will Barnes has performed many sell-out shows at some of the UK's top theatres, venues and festivals including Ronnie Scotts, 606, Royal Albert Hall and Cheltenham Jazz Festival to name but a few. The vocals of Beth Prior weave in and out of the most intricate riffs with ease. Completely self-taught, with the vocal strength of a pop diva, the precision of a highly trained session singer and the delicacy of a 1940's smokey jazz vocalist.Fresh of 2017's summer shenanigans with the Beth Prior Collective (BPC), Beth and Will stepped into the studio to collaborate on the new album. With the influences of dub and reggae remaining, they've consciously stepped forwards into more intelligent pop sensibilities, whilst comfortably maintaining the touch and feel of the myriad of genres they've moved through during their musical careers.Their UK winter Duo Tour is history in the making for these young musicians and not one to be missed!"
Thanks again for your continued support. So looking forward to catching up with people at these gigs. I've got a feeling I'm going to see some faces I haven't seen in a while! Each venue has a different vibe, so check out the events above for more information on booking and making a reservation.
